Deployment of the new version "MIIDEL4" that supports layout change comparisons of drawings

TRIART Co., Ltd. (located in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; CEO: Kentaro Imazu) will start offering a new version "MIIDEL4" equipped with a partial comparison function for the image and drawing comparison system MIIDEL (pronounced: Miideru) from October 1, 2019.

About MIIDEL
MIIDEL is an image and drawing comparison system that discovers changes and displays them in color during the checking work of old and new drawings and documents, reducing oversights during visual confirmation.

The feature of MIIDEL is that, unlike general data comparison between document files, it recognizes, detects, and evaluates image features similarly to human vision, enabling comparison of different data formats such as document data and scanned images. In other words, any information visible to the human eye can be compared. Such visual inspection work is extremely difficult for humans to guarantee completeness, yet confirmation assurance is required, so it takes a lot of time to perform accurately and imposes a heavy burden on operators. By utilizing MIIDEL, these issues can be solved, and from the perspective of improving work efficiency and preventing mistakes, it has been highly praised mainly by manufacturers and construction industries.

Overview of MIIDEL4
In drawings and charts used in construction and manufacturing industries, layout changes often occur when new information is added due to reasons such as securing space. When many such changes occur simultaneously within one document, large differences appear across the entire drawing, making comparison difficult with the conventional MIIDEL ver.3. Therefore, the newly released "MIIDEL4" detects features of partial information contained in the document, blocks the information by item, and includes a function to partially match within one document. This makes it easier to compare chart items prone to layout changes and large single-sheet drawings. (See the figure below)

Additionally, responding to user needs, we have expanded supported file formats (TIFF/JPEG/PNG) and improved functionality to support difference comparison between files with different extensions (e.g., PDF vs JPEG). We are also working on major accuracy improvements for the partial comparison function based on feedback from existing users, with a release planned soon. (As of March 27, 2020)
